The following timeline is provided to give teachers an idea of when to expect the release of each Teacher Support Pack (TSP) that supports each chapter in our new textbook.
- Pre-order complete set of Teacher Support Packs and SL eBooks (Link)
- Sample Course Outline
Please bear in mind it takes approximately 2-4 hours of work per lesson to create these materials. This includes the lesson plan, slideshow, workbooks, and activity materials. Until December 2025, I’m making these materials on top of my regular teaching. From 2026, I am devoting myself entirely to creating IB Psych materials, so please be patient.
*The Revision chapter isn’t designed to be taught lesson by lesson, so instead of a TSP I will create a number of exam preparation materials and release these as they’re created. I will focus on the exams in reverse order, beginning with Paper 3 and then Paper 2, since these are the most challenging to create samples for.
Some notes on the new textbook
Content and Contexts: The new IB course has encouraged everyone to teach “thematically” – which used to mean combining the approaches with the options, but now means combining content in contexts. With this in mind, the above chapters 1-9 are all linked to the contexts. However, you can swap these out neatly if you prefer to teach something else. For example, you could skip depression and teach PTSD if you preferred.
Class Practicals: The four practicals with suggestions are included in the first research methods unit. However, you could break these up and do them at different times in the course if you preferred.
Concepts: These are embedded in lessons for fast finishers, and then there are stand alone lessons in the research methods units to give all students a chance at comprehending each one.
I am terrible at over promising and under delivering, but please know that I’m working incredibly hard to meet these deadlines so everyone who I can hopefully stay one unit ahead of everyone who has pre-ordered the TSPs.
