{"id":3930,"date":"2017-06-14T03:27:24","date_gmt":"2017-06-14T03:27:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ibpsych.themantic-education.com\/?p=3930"},"modified":"2017-06-14T03:27:24","modified_gmt":"2017-06-14T03:27:24","slug":"ib-psychology-hl-in-less-than-180-hours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.themantic-education.com\/ibpsych\/2017\/06\/14\/ib-psychology-hl-in-less-than-180-hours\/","title":{"rendered":"IB Psychology (HL) in less than 180 hours!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By teaching the course holistically and integrating the core and options, it\u2019s possible to teach the IB Psychology course content in more depth and in less time.<\/p>\n<p>Below you can see how I intend on teaching \u00a0my HL Psychology class in less than 180 hours with the help of my textbook,\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.themantic-education.com\/products\/ib-psychology-a-students-guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IB Psychology: A Student\u2019s Guide.<\/a><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.themantic-education.com\/products\/ib-psychology-a-students-guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>What I should point out first, however, is that I will use all the hours I have scheduled (255+). The 180 hours refers to the structured, content-based\u00a0lessons\u00a0that are necessary to cover the course. The other 70+ hours will be used for things like tests, independent student research on topics of interest, teaching writing, research and other essential skills, course review, exam revision, etc.<\/p>\n<p>In the past I&#8217;ve felt under pressure for the whole two years of the course and always feeling like I had to skim through things half complete. With the themantic model applied to the new course and the book to help, I have so much extra time that I&#8217;m enjoying teaching a lot more.
